Because the foot was the common ground I shared with my father
Because I never found shoes that fit right.
Because mortality is real when we can’t walk to the washroom by ourselves.
Because feet, like women are considered close to the earth and distant from heaven.
Because the frequency with which the words foot and feet
appear in poetry decreases at the rate of production.
Because the sole of a foot may be the same as the soul of man.
Because no one would consider the foot an absolute.
Because if you made this list for yourself you would find a lot more to say.
