Time and Temperature: 400 F 8-10 min on ungreased pans

INGREDIENTS: |

|
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup & 2 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 cups sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour |

1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cups chopped nuts |

Simmer raisins in water until plump, drain. Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and add to wet. Then stir in oats and nuts. |
Note: great cookies, don't try substituting butter for shortening, they're just not as good. |
