Time and Temperature: 400 F 8-10 min on ungreased pans

INGREDIENTS: |

|
1 cup raisins
1 cup water
3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour |

1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cups chopped nuts |

Simmer raisins in water until plump, drain. Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and add to wet. Then stir in oats and nuts. |
Note: great cookies, don't try substituting butter for shortening, they're just not as good. I make a half recipe and bake them in my toaster oven. |
